SGPC Launches “Khuaar Hoye Sabh Milenge” Campaign to Strengthen Sikh Faith and Unity
In a significant religious initiative, Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj, officiating Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht and Jathedar of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, along with Baba Tek Singh, Jathedar of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, formally launched the “Khuaar Hoye Sabh Milenge” (Those Feeling Dejected and in Despair Will Reunite) campaign. The campaign was inaugurated with the symbolic beating of the Nagara (sacred drum) at Gurdwara Janam Asthan Bhai Jeevan Singh in Gaggo Mahal village, located in the Ajnala region of Amritsar.
The initiative, spearheaded by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee’s (SGPC) Dharam Parchar Committee, is being conducted under the guidance of Sri Akal Takht Sahib. A special Gurmat Samagam (religious congregation) marked the beginning of the campaign. During the event, Raagi, Dhadi (balladeers), and Kavishar (poetry orators) jathas engaged the Sangat with Gurbani recitation and Sikh historical narratives. The Ardas (prayer) for the occasion was performed by Jathedar Gargaj himself.
Speaking at the event, Jathedar Gargaj emphasized that the campaign is aimed at revitalizing Sikh values and teachings across Punjab and other states. Highlighting concerns over increasing religious conversions in the region, he stated that the mission will promote Sikh unity and spiritual awakening.
“The teachings of the Sikh Gurus will be spread widely, and we will encourage the Sangat to take Amrit and embrace Sikhi,” he said. The campaign, which will run throughout the year with the SGPC’s support, will include a series of events aimed at uplifting families through the wisdom of Gurbani and the principles of Gurmat.
Jathedar Gargaj also expressed his commitment to personally visiting gurdwaras to preach Sikh values. He acknowledged the rising influence of anti-Sikh Deras as a growing concern and stressed the importance of countering such elements through education, awareness, and spiritual outreach.
This initiative seeks not only to strengthen the Sikh faith but also to foster community unity and spiritual resilience in the face of modern challenges.
