India Defeats Bangladesh by 7 Wickets, Completes Clean Sweep of Two-Test Series
Yashasvi Jaiswal struck another half-century as India triumphed over Bangladesh by seven wickets in the rain-affected second Test, completing a clean sweep of the two-Test series on Tuesday.
After bowling Bangladesh out for 146 runs in their second innings—thanks to three-wicket performances from Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, and Jasprit Bumrah—India chased down the target of 95 runs in just 17.2 overs. Jaiswal contributed with 51 runs, while Virat Kohli remained unbeaten on 29.
Earlier, Ashwin (3/50), Jadeja (3/34), and Bumrah (3/17) dismantled the Bangladesh batting lineup, restricting them to just 120 runs added to their overnight total of 26/2. Shadman Islam was the top scorer for Bangladesh in the second innings, making 50 runs.
The lunch break was extended by nearly an hour to allow for the completion of Bangladesh's innings.
In their first innings, Bangladesh was all out for 233, while India scored 285/9 and declared their innings on Monday, with two days of play lost due to a wet outfield.
