Punjab Congress Chief Slams CM Mann Over Strikes and Farmer Detentions

Punjab Congress chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring criticized Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann over the ongoing tehsildars' strike, stating that a leader cannot afford to be in conflict with everyone.

Speaking to reporters in Muktsar, Warring remarked, "Almost every section of society is protesting today. As Chief Minister, you cannot be at loggerheads with everyone. The public is suffering. Instead of taking on the entire department, the CM should simply remove the black sheep."

Commenting on the detention of several farmer leaders across Punjab, Warring accused Mann of behaving immaturely. "Farmers are being treated like terrorists. It appears that the state government is following directions from Amit Shah to create unrest. However, history has shown that the voice of farmers cannot be silenced," he said. Warring also stated that he had urged Congress leaders and MLAs to stand by the farmers wherever necessary.

Further, he criticized the Punjab government’s approach to the drug menace, alleging that while authorities were taking action against small drug peddlers, they had failed to go after the real masterminds behind the illegal trade.

Taking a swipe at AAP supremo and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Warring quipped, "Kejriwal is a free man now, as AAP is nearly finished. All that’s left for him to do is meditation."
