Deported from Panama: Four Punjabis Among 12 Arrivals in Amritsar

A Turkish Airlines flight carrying four Punjabis—part of a group of 12 individuals deported from Panama following their expulsion by the US—touched down at Amritsar’s Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport this evening.

These Punjab residents had initially landed at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on Sunday along with the other deportees. Of the 12, three were from Haryana and three hailed from Uttar Pradesh. The Punjab nationals have been identified as Jatinder Singh from Nabha in Patiala, Maninder Dutt of Jalandhar, and Jugraj Singh along with Harpreet Singh from Batala.

A senior police official confirmed that the deported Indians arrived in New Delhi via Istanbul on a Turkish Airlines flight. Once in New Delhi, the four Punjabis were transferred to Amritsar, where police from their respective districts received them before they were sent back to their homes.
