Cruise Ship Stays in Belfast a Day After Departing Harbour
A cruise ship that finally set sail on Monday after months of delays remains anchored in Belfast Lough on Tuesday night.
The *Odyssey*, operated by Villa Vie Residences, was initially scheduled to leave the city in May. However, five months later, the ship has yet to depart Northern Ireland waters due to ongoing delays.
The 31-year-old round-the-world cruise liner anchored off the coast overnight on Monday and was expected to resume its journey on Tuesday. However, passengers were informed that some final paperwork still needed to be completed.
Despite the uncertainty, passengers who spent the night on board reported a positive atmosphere. Donna Martemucci told BBC News NI that she viewed the delay as "just another day to explore a lovely city. All good."
John Frim expressed some confusion about the situation but noted he was "happy to be home" and enjoyed sleeping in his "own bed" on the vessel for the first time.
