Resham Kaur, Wife of BJP Leader Hans Raj Hans, Passes Away at 62
Resham Kaur, wife of renowned Sufi singer and BJP leader Hans Raj Hans, passed away on Wednesday after a prolonged illness. She was 62.
Kaur breathed her last at Tagore Hospital in Jalandhar, where she had been undergoing treatment. She is survived by her husband and two sons, Yuvraj and Navraj.
Her brother, Paramjit Singh, confirmed that the cremation will take place on Thursday in Safipur village.
Hans Raj Hans, who previously served as a Member of Parliament from North West Delhi, contested the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from Faridkot on a BJP ticket but was unsuccessful.
News of Kaur’s passing drew condolences from several political leaders. Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu expressed his sorrow on social media, writing, “May Waheguru grant eternal peace to the departed soul and give the family the strength to bear this profound loss.”
BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh and Shiromani Akali Dal leader Daljit Singh Cheema also offered their tributes. Cheema wrote, “I am deeply saddened by the passing of Resham Kaur ji. She was a deeply religious woman who stood by Mr. Hans Raj Hans and their family through every phase of life. Her loss is truly irreparable.”
The family has requested privacy during this time of mourning as they bid farewell to a beloved wife, mother, and pillar of support.
