Union Cabinet Likely to Approve Zirakpur Bypass and Key Infrastructure Projects Today
The Union Cabinet is expected to give the green light to the construction of a six-lane Zirakpur bypass connecting Punjab and Haryana during its meeting scheduled for today. The proposed project, estimated to cost around ₹1,800 crore, aims to significantly reduce traffic congestion along the busy Delhi-Chandigarh national highway.
In addition to the bypass, the Cabinet is also likely to approve a comprehensive water management and irrigation scheme. This initiative is designed to boost water conservation efforts and enhance irrigation infrastructure across the country.
Furthermore, the Cabinet may grant ex-post facto approval to the Waqf Amendment Act, which came into effect on April 8.
