Two Smugglers Arrested by ANTF After 3.33 kg Heroin Seizure
The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) has arrested two smugglers following the seizure of 3.33 kg of heroin. The accused, identified as Joginder Singh (24) and Judge Singh (25), are both residents of Machhiwara village in the district.
Seizure and Arrest Details
Providing details, SP (ANTF) Gurpreet Singh stated that based on specific intelligence inputs, ANTF officials, along with the BSF, conducted a search operation on March 7 near Khunder Hithar village in the Mamdot area. During the operation, authorities seized 2.64 kg of heroin and a DJI Matrice 300 RTK drone.
Following the seizure, a case was registered under Section 21C of the NDPS Act and Sections 10, 11, and 12 of the Aircraft Act at SAS Nagar, Mohali.
Further Investigation and Arrests
SP Singh further stated that after the initial recovery, ANTF launched an in-depth investigation. A trap was later set to capture the smugglers, resulting in the arrest of Joginder Singh and Judge Singh, during which an additional 699 grams of heroin was seized from them.
The arrests mark a significant breakthrough in the crackdown on drug smuggling networks in the region, with authorities continuing their efforts to dismantle such operations.
