Punjab Government Replaces SIT Head in Army Colonel Assault Case
The Punjab government has appointed a new head for the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the assault case involving Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath.
ADGP A.S. Rai has taken over as the SIT chief, replacing ADGP S.P.S. Parmar, who was recently assigned as Chief Director of the Vigilance Bureau. The other SIT members, SSP Sandeep Malik and SP Manpreet Singh, will continue in their roles.
This marks the fourth change in the investigation team. Previous changes were made following directions from the Punjab and Haryana High Court or objections raised by the victim’s family.
So far, twelve police personnel have been booked in connection with the alleged assault on the Army officer and his son.
