PSEB Sets Up 2,579 Exam Centres for Class 8, 10, and 12 Board Exams
The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has established 2,579 examination centres across the state to conduct annual board exams for Classes 8, 10, and 12. Over 8.82 lakh students are expected to appear for the exams.
Punjab School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains announced the exam schedule on Tuesday. The Class 8 board exams will commence on Wednesday, February 19, followed by Class 12 exams on February 24. Class 10 examinations are set to begin in March.
According to Bains, 3,02,189 students will appear for the Class 8 exam, while 2,84,658 students will take the Class 10 exam, along with 9,877 students for the Matric open exam. Additionally, 2,72,105 students will sit for the Class 12 board exam, and 13,363 students are registered for the senior secondary open exam.
To ensure smooth and fair conduct of the exams, 2,579 superintendents and 3,269 deputy superintendents have been deployed. A control room (0172-5227136, 137,138) has also been set up at the PSEB head office to monitor the examinations.
Extending his best wishes to students, Minister Bains encouraged them to work hard and make their parents and the state proud.
