The Punjab Government has revoked the posting orders for AIG Gurmeet Chauhan, who was previously embroiled in a controversy involving an AAP MLA from Tarn Taran.

Initially designated as SSP in Ferozepur on Friday, his posting was cancelled in fresh orders directing him to continue as the Anti-Gangster Task Force AIG.

Chauhan's earlier removal as SSP in Tarn Taran came after he registered a police case against supporters of an AAP MLA. Despite the controversy, the Tarn Taran police force expressed their support by giving him a rousing farewell at the time of his exit.
