Hailing from Kala Sanghian village in Kapurthala, Jeeta Maur had been unwell for several months, suffering from swollen legs that made walking difficult.
From Kabaddi Star to Real Estate Mogul
Once an international kabaddi player, Jeeta Maur transitioned into the real estate sector, developing 70 to 80 colonies across Doaba and Majha. His extravagant lifestyle, marked by a fleet of imported cars, brought him close to many influential figures, including politicians and senior police officials.
His real estate empire, which he began building in 2010, faced its first setback in 2018 when he split from his business partner, Charan Singh. The fallout resulted in over 30 civil and criminal cases between them.
Legal Troubles and Drug Case Arrest
In February 2022, the Special Task Force (STF) arrested Jeeta Maur in a drug case, based on a complaint filed by Charan Singh. Twelve others were also booked in connection with the case, which eventually led to an Enforcement Directorate probe.
On October 27, the Additional Sessions Judge of Kapurthala summoned several prominent figures in relation to the case, including Ganieve Majithia, SAD MLA and wife of former minister Bikram Majithia.
Early Life and Kabaddi Fame
Jeeta Maur moved to London during his school years and trained in kabaddi under his paternal uncle, Mahinder Singh Maur, a well-known kabaddi promoter. By the late 1990s, he had gained a massive fan following, with videos of his matches becoming popular on YouTube.

While his wife and four sons are settled in London, Jeeta Maur established at least four companies in India:
