Amritsar Police Bust International Drug Syndicate, Arrest Seven with 4.5 kg Heroin

In two separate intelligence-led operations, Amritsar Rural Police arrested seven individuals linked to an international drug syndicate and seized 4.5 kg of heroin from their possession.

According to initial investigations, the arrested suspects were found to be associated with Gurdeep, alias Rano — a key figure in the drug network who is currently detained under the PIT NDPS Act.

"Acting on credible intelligence, police teams successfully intercepted the accused and uncovered their connection to an international drug syndicate," said Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav in a post on X. He further stated that the probe confirmed links to Gurdeep @ Rano, a central operative currently in custody.

DGP Yadav added that further investigations are ongoing to expose and dismantle the broader drug network involved in the smuggling operation.
