52-Year-Old Man Shot Dead Following Dispute Near Old Bus Stand

A 52-year-old man, identified as Mahinder Singh of Anand Nagar, was shot dead late last night at an office near the old bus stand area of the city.

The incident occurred around 11 p.m. while Mahinder and the accused were reportedly drinking together. According to police sources, a heated argument broke out between the two, which escalated, leading the accused to open fire. Investigating officers confirmed that three shots were fired from what is believed to be a licensed firearm.

Initial investigations suggest that a monetary dispute may have triggered the altercation and subsequent shooting. Following the incident, the accused fled the scene.

Mahinder Singh’s body has been sent to Rajindra Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

The police have registered a case of murder and launched a manhunt to apprehend the suspect.
