Pratibha Singh to Launch ‘Samvidhan Bachao’ Campaign in Bilaspur, Begin Block-Level Consultations
Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) president Pratibha Singh will kick off the ‘Samvidhan Bachao’ programme in Bilaspur tomorrow, where she will also preside over a district-level meeting of party workers. The initiative is part of a broader campaign aimed at mobilizing grassroots support ahead of upcoming political developments.
Following the Bilaspur event, Pratibha will travel to Una on May 2 to conduct a similar programme.
Speaking to reporters, Pratibha Singh said she would also begin collecting feedback from party workers on potential candidates for the block-level committees, which have remained vacant since the HPCC was dissolved up to the block level nearly six months ago by the Congress high command.
On the matter of reconstituting the HPCC, Pratibha noted that state AICC in-charge Rajni Patil had taken the lists of proposed names for the state and district executive committees to New Delhi, during her recent visit to the state following the Pahalgam terror attack.
Pratibha Singh also addressed speculation about her future in the party. Having recently completed her three-year term as HPCC president, questions have emerged over whether she will continue in the role.
“I haven’t heard anything about it from party leaders,” she said, indicating that no official communication had been made regarding her continuation or potential replacement.
The upcoming meetings in Bilaspur and Una are expected to set the tone for Congress’s organizational rebuilding and grassroots engagement in Himachal Pradesh.
