SAD Leaders Urge Harjinder Singh Dhami to Withdraw Resignation from SGPC President Post
Senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leaders, led by Diljit Singh Cheema, met with Harjinder Singh Dhami at his residence in Hoshiarpur today, urging him to withdraw his resignation as the president of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC).
After a meeting that lasted over an hour, Cheema addressed the media, calling Dhami’s sudden resignation "unfortunate." He explained that he and other Akali Dal leaders had a detailed discussion with Dhami, where they listened carefully to the concerns and objections he raised. Cheema emphasized that the meeting took place in a cordial atmosphere, and the leadership was committed to addressing Dhami's grievances.
Cheema further stated that in the coming days, these objections would be discussed within the Akali Dal, and they would once again appeal to Dhami to reconsider his resignation. He described Dhami as a respected figure whose services were essential for both the party and the Panth, urging him to reconsider his decision for the benefit of the community and the party.
