Punjab Education Department Embarrassed by Fake Transfer Orders Scandal

In a bizarre turn of events, the Punjab Education Department has been left red-faced after 57 clerks-cum-data entry operators and sewadars were transferred across multiple districts based on fraudulent transfer orders.

The scandal came to light when these fake orders went viral on social media, causing confusion among department employees. In response, the Director of the School Education Department swiftly issued an urgent letter to all District Education Officers (DEOs) on February 2, warning them against acting on misleading directives.

Despite this, some DEOs and school heads had already begun placing employees at new locations based on the false orders. Concerned about the situation, the Director General of School Education (DGSE) has now instructed all officials to disregard any transfer orders unless they are officially communicated through designated email channels.

Emphasizing the importance of verification, the DGSE has urged education officials to carefully scrutinize the authenticity of all orders before implementing them. Authorities have been directed to prioritize official directives and report any suspicious communications immediately to prevent further disruptions.

The circulation of fraudulent orders has not only caused administrative chaos but also highlighted concerns about misinformation and its impact on departmental operations. An investigation is now underway to identify the source of the fake orders, and stringent action is expected against those responsible.

Meanwhile, department officials and employees have been advised to rely solely on official communication channels and refrain from acting on unverified information to ensure smooth functioning of the education system.
