Former International Kabaddi Player and Businessman Ranjit Singh Jeeta Maur Passes Away

Jalandhar: International kabaddi player, realtor, and accused in a high-profile drug case, Ranjit Singh Jeeta Maur, passed away following a heart attack late last evening. He breathed his last at a private hospital in Jalandhar.

Hailing from Kala Sanghian village in Kapurthala, Maur had been in poor health for the past few months and had difficulty walking.

A prominent name in Punjab’s real estate sector, Maur had developed 70-80 colonies in the Doaba and Majha regions with investments from influential figures. His opulent lifestyle and fleet of imported cars attracted a wide circle of business associates, including politicians and senior police officials. However, many of his high-profile connections distanced themselves after his arrest by the Special Task Force (STF) in February 2022 in connection with an alleged drug case. He was also involved in over 30 criminal and civil cases.

Maur had moved to London during his school years, where he received kabaddi training from his paternal uncle, Mahinder Singh Maur. His wife and four sons currently reside in London.

His passing marks the end of a tumultuous journey that blended sports, real estate, and controversy in equal measure.
