Deportees allowed to go 7 hours after plane landed in Amritsar
Around seven hours after a US military plane carrying 112 deportees landed at Amritsar’s Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport on Sunday night, the deportees were transported out of the airport in security-escorted buses during the early hours of Monday.
Media interactions were prohibited, and their families were not permitted to receive them. The plane arrived at 10:03 pm, but the deportees were only allowed to leave in small groups starting at 4:30 am. The entire process of escorting them out of the airport took approximately 30 minutes.
Among the deportees, 31 were from Punjab, 44 from Haryana, and one from Himachal Pradesh. Officials stated that arrangements were made by the respective state authorities for their transportation to their final destinations.
