Chaos in Punjab Assembly as Congress Stages Walkout Over Denial of Speech
Tensions flared in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha during a discussion on the Governor’s address, as members of the Opposition Congress staged a walkout in protest. The disruption was triggered after Congress MLA Sukhpal Khaira was denied the chance to speak during the proceedings.
As the Congress legislators exited the House in protest, Finance Minister Harpal Cheema raised objections to what he described as "unparliamentary language" used by Khaira against Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan. The incident marked the second walkout by the Congress on the same day.
Earlier during Zero Hour, Congress MLAs had also walked out after Khaira was again not permitted to speak, underscoring ongoing friction between the ruling party and the Opposition.
