AAP Restructures Leadership: Manish Sisodia Appointed Punjab Incharge, Satyendra Jain Named Co-Incharge
In a significant organisational reshuffle, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday announced key leadership changes across multiple states. Senior AAP leader and former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has been appointed as the party's incharge for Punjab, while former Delhi minister Satyendra Jain has been named the co-incharge.
The decisions were made during a meeting of AAP’s Political Affairs Committee (PAC), held at the residence of party national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Among other major changes, Saurabh Bharadwaj, who recently lost the Delhi Assembly election from the Greater Kailash constituency, has been appointed as AAP’s new Delhi convener, replacing Gopal Rai. Rai, in turn, has been assigned the responsibility of overseeing party affairs in Gujarat.
Further, Pankaj Gupta has been given charge of Goa, while Mehraj Malik has been appointed to lead AAP’s efforts in Jammu and Kashmir.
Announcing the changes, AAP MP Sandeep Pathak also addressed recent political developments in Delhi, particularly criticizing the BJP’s unfulfilled poll promises. Referring to the Prime Minister’s campaign pledge that Rs 2,500 would be deposited into every woman’s account after the first cabinet meeting, Pathak said, “This is unfortunate for the country’s politics. Despite such tall promises, we will continue to focus on working for the people.”
