Drug Peddler Arrested with 10 kg Heroin in Amritsar

The Counter Intelligence team of Amritsar Police arrested a drug peddler and seized 10 kilograms of heroin on Wednesday. The accused, Harmandeep Singh, hails from Mahal village and was allegedly in contact with Pakistan-based smugglers.

Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav shared details on X, stating that Singh had been in constant communication with a smuggler identified as Chacha Bawa, who allegedly sent the heroin via drones in the Attari sector for further distribution. The authorities are investigating whether Singh retrieved the contraband himself or received it from someone else for further supply.

Police officials revealed that Singh had previously been booked in a case related to a scuffle and physical assault. A case has been registered with the State Special Operation Cell, and investigations are ongoing to identify any other individuals involved in the trafficking network.
