Punjab’s SSOC Busts Espionage Network Tied to YouTuber Jasbir Singh
Mohali, Punjab – The State Special Operations Cell (SSOC) in Mohali has uncovered a significant espionage network allegedly linked to Jasbir Singh, a resident of Mahlan village in Ropar. Singh, who runs a YouTube channel called Jaan Mahal, is accused of using the platform as a front for covert intelligence operations.
According to authorities, Jasbir Singh maintained contact with several individuals suspected of involvement in espionage activities. These include Shakir alias Jutt Randhawa, a Pakistan-based person of Indian origin (PIO); Jyoti Malhotra, a Haryana-based YouTuber previously arrested for spying; and Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish, a Pakistani national and expelled official from the Pakistan High Commission.
Investigations revealed that Singh attended Pakistan's National Day event in New Delhi in 2024 at the invitation of Danish and made three visits to Pakistan in 2020, 2021, and 2024. His seized electronic devices contained multiple contacts based in Pakistan, reinforcing suspicions of his involvement in espionage.
In a reported attempt to conceal his activities, Singh allegedly tried to erase all communication records with foreign agents following Jyoti Malhotra’s arrest.
An FIR has been registered at the SSOC in Mohali, and digital forensic analysis is currently in progress as authorities deepen their probe into the network.
