Trump Deploys National Guard to Los Angeles Amid Immigration Raids Unrest

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has ordered the deployment of the National Guard to Los Angeles after widespread protests erupted over aggressive immigration raids targeting undocumented migrants.
According to Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, the National Guard has not yet reached the city. However, a senior federal official confirmed that troops are expected to arrive within the next 24 hours.
California Governor Gavin Newsom strongly criticized Trump’s move, calling it “purposefully inflammatory” and warning that it “will only escalate tensions” in communities already on edge.
Clashes have been particularly intense in a predominantly Latino neighborhood, where residents confronted federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents as they carried out late-night raids. Videos circulating on social media show residents chanting, blocking streets, and confronting agents.
Taking to his Truth Social platform, Donald Trump responded to the unrest with a firm warning:
“These Radical Left protests, by instigators and often paid troublemakers, will NOT BE TOLERATED.”
Community leaders are calling for calm while expressing deep concern over the federal government's aggressive tactics and the deployment of military force in a civilian setting.
